Gray's Inn Student Law Journal

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Gray’s Inn Student Law Journal is now open for submissions!

This is your opportunity to publish an essay, article, case-note or book review on any legal subject in our very own Student Law Journal. The journal will be circulated to barristers and students at all four Inns, as well as to law schools around the country and further afield. We intend to publish both electronic and print editions.

We are looking for a mixture of longer articles of between 5,000 to 7,500 words and shorter notes or reviews of 1,000-2,000 words. Bespoke articles are especially welcome, but an easier way to contribute is to repurpose one of the best essays you’ve written in your legal education to date, or an edited excerpt from a longer dissertation or thesis. There is no limit on the number of submissions per person.

Your work will be read by somebody with knowledge of your chosen field, and if your piece is selected publication in the journal provides an excellent talking point for pupillage applications and bolstering your academic credentials. In addition to a short run of printed copies, the electronic edition of the journal will be available to all on the Gray’s Inn website, presenting the largest possible audience for your work.

Submissions from current and recent Gray’s Inn students (GDL or BPTC) will be considered on a rolling basis until 1 May 2013 for publication in the summer. However, applicants wishing to receive a decision on their article(s) before the opening of the Pupillage Portal are advised ensure their work is submitted by 1 February 2013.

Please e-mail your articles to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Your work should conform to the attached style guide. If your work is chosen for publication you will be asked to sign a declaration that your work is entirely your own and that you have the right to submit it to this journal for publication.

Please do contact us if you have any queries, and we look forward to reading your articles!
