Coming to the Bar? Stop! Read this and think!

 Admissions documents can be downloaded from this website (see link below).  Hard copies are available from the Education Department on request.  Admission papers must be sent to the Education Department by post. 

PLEASE NOTE: we cannot accept applications by fax or e-mail. 

Failure to provide the correct forms and documents in the correct format will delay your admission to the Inn.  Please ensure you have read the document 'How to join the Inn' before completing any forms.

How to Join the Inn

Your application should include the following:

  1.  Four Inns of Court and General Council of the Bar form
  2.  Admission Declaration form
  3.  Two completed Certificates of Good Character
  4.  Certified copies of qualification certificates
  5.  Admission fee
  6.  Two passport photos
  7.  Equal Opportunities form
  8.  Signed Data Protection Statement
  9.  Additional Information form

 

Applications to join Gray's Inn must be received by 31st May of the year you intend to start the Bar Professional Training Course.

Forms received after 31 May 2013 will not be accepted for the academic year 2013/2014.

 

Please be aware that the Inn will be closed for the Whitsun break from 2:30pm on Friday 24 May until Monday 3 June.  The office may not be able to confirm receipt of paperwork submitted close to the deadline until after the break.
