Rules and Requirements
BPTC Students - please plan to complete 12 QS within a two year period.
- Students studying in London will be invited to attend an Introductory Evening at the start of the BPTC. The evening is free of charge and is worth 1 QS.
- Students studying on circuit will be invited to attend an Introductory Weekend at the start of the BPTC. The evening is free of charge and is worth 3 QS.
- Call in person is worth 1 QS. Call in absentia does not qualify as a QS.
- Only 3 QSs will be counted as part of the overall 12 required for Call to the Bar before the commencement of the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC).
- You are allowed to book as many term QSs as you like, however only 6 qualifying sessions will be counted per term.
- Students may book and pay online per term.
- Paper forms will also be accepted to book term QSs. Payment must be by cheque, cash or card (if in person).
- Both methods of booking will only be taken between the booking opening and closing dates for the purpose of making banqueting arrangements.
- Student registration times for QSs at the Inn will vary. Notice of the registration and session timings as well as the location of a specific event will be printed on your Qualifying Session (QS) ticket. Any changes to student registration times will be highlighted via an email notice to students and published on the website as well as the Inn’s physical notice boards.
- As for formal dining anywhere, members and guests are not expected to leave Hall between Grace before Dinner and the final toast of Domus. Attendees should therefore ensure that they use the facilities before entering Hall.
